I have been a big fan of Sex and the City.  I still haven’t seen the film yet but many of my friends have been telling me that Carrie Bradshaw still carries a cellphone encrusted with Swarovski crystals!  I was thriled to hear this - but of course I am quite curious to know who has done it, and more over, I really want to see what it looks like!

For a fashion-savvy person like Carrie, a cellphone embellished with pink crystals is simple a “must” item…. Pink is always a great colour to have.

But in an ideal world: shouldn’t Carrie be carrying more than one cellphones with various designs matching her every outfit? That would be so amazing…

It is actually amazing how we met. We spontaneously found each other on eBay. She found my Xbox360 with Lara Croft and I found her Sidekick with a tree frog. I was so impressed by the way she played with colours… it was truly magical. It was really like the feeling that the lost twin sisters finally got together!

Well we kept in touch, and last year we just came to an agreement that she would be responsible for the Bling My Thing creation in the US. We had her in our atelier to go through the training so that she could learn all of our designs. We’ve never had so much fun in our lives!

We have a separate gallery of her work in our website so that you can go through what she has done. Her work is so original, it deserves her own place… you would be so surprised what she can come up with!

[Biography]

Kellie DeFries has been chosen to lead the Bling My Thing Team in the US in July 2007. In our eyes, Ms. DeFries is the only person in the US, who could deliver the BMT quality to our future customers in the new market. She also shares our philosophy that the work we produce is not a commodity but ART.

Kellie DeFries is a graduate of McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA with a double B.A. in Ceramics and Graphic Design (1995). Her use of strong colors and simplicity of form has always been a concentration in the preferred technique of mosaics and pointillism. Her background in Graphic Design and southern roots are always an influence in her art. From the marshes of Louisiana to the ocean breezes of San Diego, she has taken in the images of her surroundings and enjoys every minute of every dot. Kellie specializes in creating designs that bring a smile to your face and happiness to your life for days to come.

Kellie began using Swarovski flatback crystals around 2002 to accentuate some of her ceramic “DotSeries”, wedding invitation Tiles and continued on to using the fabulous medium in her wall sized Mosaic designs. Her previous Swarovski work is featured in many of the online galleries of CrystalIcing.com, for whom she was Chief Designer for almost 2 years.

In February 2006, Kellie was awarded $2,000.00 and placement in the Swarovski Create-Your-Style Design Competition. Her entry piece titled, “LapTurtle”, a Laptop Computer completely embellished with in 2028 flatbacks with a design of a SeaTurtle and flowers, will travel with Swarovski to world renowned exhibitions and trade shows.

Since we introduced our super-duper Flash website, we realised that it also became slightly user-unfriendly… we have had some calls from our customers complaining that it does not work as well as our previous html website.

Here are some tips if you encounter any problems:

1. Please be patient! If you never visited our website, it may take a while until it loads all the photos. We have MANY images so it may take a while if your internet connection is not so fast. Just leave it until something appears on the screen. Then it’s time to navigate through our website!

2. Even during the navigation under the gallery, please give it some time until all the images are fully loaded. If you are impatient and keep on clicking on things, it may just hang there.

3. If you are the first time visitor and do not know how to go through our website, I recommend you to go through the gallery of “mobile phones”, as you will see various designs categorised by themes. If you are more or less interested in the object you would like to bling, and want to see the example, then go directly to the product category (e.g. iPod, car accessories) then you will see all the examples.

4. Most importantly: if you want to go back to the previous page, DO NOT EVER CLICK “BACK” IN THE INTERNET BROWSER - that will take you all the way back to the start site. Please do not forget to navigation WITHIN the flash website.

We want to stress that almost every design is transferable onto other object. Some may think that one design is only for a certain model, but it is not true! If you have any questions, just send us an enquiry and we will answer your questions immediately!

I think this is the cutest little clock I have ever seen. It is a classic clock with a modern, clean design. Tiny though! But it even has a small compartment behind the clock face! I just love it.
